About history in Clarens.  The dinosaurs were here first and they left evidence that can be explored to make sure that we know it.  Then the San made this valley their home, leaving their mark behind in the form of Bushmen paintings.

From there things went somewhat downhill with the Anglo-Boar wars and those between the Basotho’s and burghers of the then Boer settlement.

All of this is in evidence in and around Clarens, waiting for all who’d like to take a trip into the history of this town that is little changed over a century later a journey worth taking.
